On the win

wwwpic5678 It was a difficult game because they looked good going forward. They came out very quickly every time we lost the ball, they took advantage of every mistake we made to come out and go forward.

I felt it was a spectacular first half, played at a high pace. It was an uncomfortable one for me because they looked dangerous as well. I always hoped we could score, but was also worried they could score. We played against a side that was technically very good.

We scored some great goals in the first half. At half-time we were 4-1 and the target was not to concede any more and if possible add another one.

We did the first part of the job, but not the second. On the other hand it will help us to focus completely on the second game and not think it’s job done. We know it is not over.

We have to go there with the right focus and try to win the game.

What were you thinking at 1-1?

That it was unfortunate, it wasn’t what we wanted. But I thought as well, let’s see how we respond to that. wwwpic5678

It was a good challenge. We were in an uncomfortable position against Milan at home when they scored the first goal and here again. But we found the answer again.

On Mesut Ozil - he enjoys this stage

Of course. He enjoys and I hope you enjoy it because you see a great football player. If you love football that’s what you want to see.

On Moscow

CSKA Moscow is a good team, quick going forward. They gave us many problems in the first half especially.

They are at a very good technical level, very mobile, very intelligent with their use of the ball. They played in a very offensive style, we are not used to seeing that in the Premier League at the Emirates.

Teams come here, stay in their half and wait for us. They had a go at us and it was uncomfortable.

Any players stand out?

I have seen many good players in their side. Individually I don’t want to give you any names.

Are you now over your blip?

We have responded well. We lost three games in a week because the first game was a final. It takes time to recover from that. wwwpic5678

Salah to start, Joe Gomez back in the team: Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool line-up to face Stoke

sbo666 Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face Stoke City At Anfield
Jurgen Klopp’s juggernaut steamrolled AS Roma at Anfield on Tuesday night as they were once 5-0 up in the Champions League semi-final first leg tie only to finish the game at 5-2. Liverpool, meanwhile, have a crucial weekend fixture in the Premier League against relegation battlers Stoke City and a win is required to seal a top-four berth and ensure a place in next season’s Champions League irrespective of what lies ahead this term.

Probable Liverpool XI
Manager: Jurgen Klopp
Formation: 4-3-3
Loris Karius (GK)
The new Liverpool No.1 has delivered some strong performances between the sticks of late but should have done better last weekend to deal with Salomon Rondon’s late equaliser. The German custodian will start the game on Saturday afternoon and must keep his concentration to clinch a clean sheet that he missed out last time.

Joe Gomez (RB)
Was at fault in the closing minutes and allowed the Baggies to stage a comeback at the Hawthorns. Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to be rested ahead of the crucial away encounter against Roma. Nathaniel Clyne is back in contention too, to start the Stoke City game. It is to be seen who Klopp prefers but the young English international must be more composed if handed a start in the right-back role.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)
The Dutchman has been rock solid since joining the club in January and will be crucial against Stoke City, especially to deal with 6ft 7in Peter Crouch, who will be a menace inside the box. sbo666

Ragnar Klavan (CB)
The Croatian was decent against Roma and might be rested on Saturday. Ragnar Klavan has been used sporadically and might be recalled to action.

Andrew Robertson (LB)
Has been thoroughly consistent all season since replacing Alberto Moreno, both at the back as well as going forward with overlapping runs and finding the attackers via his trademark crosses into the opponent’s box.

Jordan Henderson (CDM)
The skipper led his side sensationally during the semifinal first leg tie and the lack of enough cover in the middle of the park might see the English international start against the Potters.

James Milner (RCM)
Has been a revelation for Liverpool who is working his socks off all over the pitch. Was unlucky to concede a late penalty against AS Roma but performed incredibly well throughout the game.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)
Came on in place of the injured Oxlade-Chamberlain and delivered a towering performance in the midfield. He will be handed a start at Anfield on Saturday and the Dutchman will look to replicate his recent form for the remainder of the season.

Mohamed Salah (RW)
Netted two world-class goals against his former employers on Tuesday night and is on the verge of being the highest scorer in a 38-game top-flight campaign in English football. He is currently on 31 Premier League goals and the occasion against Stoke City will offer him the chance to set a record.

Sadio Mane (LW)
He has been wasting opportunities but has been scoring goals and providing assists quite frequently. Needs to be more clinical in front of goal but the Senegalese sensation is likely to trouble the Stoke City backline with his pace, runs and power on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino (ST)
The Brazilian has become the ‘system’ of Klopp’s Liverpool as he scores goals, creates moves and tracks back to win possession throughout the game. Will be determined to extend his goals tally by scoring against Stoke City. sbo666

Chelsea sink Swansea as Southampton boost survival hopes, while Liverpool keep winning: Premier League predictions

wwwpic5678 We are into the final three weeks of the Premier League season. While Manchester City may have already wrapped up the league title, there is plenty still at stake as sides fight for top-four spots and to avoid relegation. Here is a look at what to watch out for and predictions on the match outcomes.

Liverpool 3 Stoke City 0
Saturday, 3.30pm
Why? While Liverpool are likely to make a few changes with one eye on the second leg of their Uefa Champions League semi-final with Roma they will almost certainly have too much for relegation-threatened Stoke. Whatever side Jurgen Klopp puts out should pick up the three points and push Stoke a step closer to relegation.

Burnley 2 Brighton and Hove Albion 0
Saturday, 6pm
Why? Burnley have had a strong end to the season and with forwards Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood in terrific form they will be surprised if they don’t consign Brighton to a pointless afternoon at Turf Moor.

Crystal Palace 2 Leicester City 1
Saturday, 6pm
Why? Palace are closing to securing survival in the Premier League, an impressive feat given they lost their opening seven games. Wilfried Zaha had a frustrating afternoon at Watford last weekend and he can bounce back here as he helps his side effectively clinch safety.

Huddersfield Town 1 Everton 1
Saturday, 6pm
Why? Huddersfield are another side who are almost safe but could do with a couple more points to secure it. David Wagner’s men should pick another point up here against an Everton side who will be dangerous on the break with the pace of Theo Walcott. wwwpic5678

Newcastle United 2 West Bromwich Albion 0
Saturday, 6pm
Why? Newcastle’s fine run of form, which has clinched survival, came to an end at Everton on Monday. But with Ayoze Perez on a good run in front of goal they will expect to bounce back and relegate West Brom to the Championship in the process.

Southampton 2 Bournemouth 1
Saturday, 6pm
Why? This is a must win for Southampton if they are to have any chance of staying up. They were well beaten by Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final last weekend, but Charlie Austin looked a threat in attack and if he can repeat that form against Bournemouth then there may be hope for the Saints after all.

Swansea City 1 Chelsea 2
Saturday, 8.30pm
Why? Swansea’s good mid-season streak of results seems a long time ago now and playing a Chelsea side who appear rejuvenated is not good news for them. Olivier Giroud scored a terrific goal in the FA Cup semi-final last weekend and he can keep Swansea embroiled in the relegation zone here as Antonio Conte's men keep their push to catch Tottenham Hotspur for fourth place alive.

West Ham United 0 Manchester City 4
Sunday, 4.30pm
Why? If the Premier League clubs were hoping that City would ease off now they are champions their 5-0 rout of Swansea last weekend answered that question. Sergio Aguero may be out for the rest of the season but in Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne, City have more than enough goal power to sink West Ham. wwwpic5678
